What is meant by the Child Centered Approach?
The Child Centered Approach promotes the right of the child to choose, make connections and communicate. It allows freedom for children to think, experience, explore, question and search for answers. It presents a creative celebration of children's work.
Nursery practitioners take on a new role in seeing how play develops, rather than directing play; children therefore become more creative and enhance communication skills with one another.
If you think back to your own childhood, what made a fantastic day was a really good play! When your mum let you turn the table upside down and you made it into a ship and sailed off to an imaginative land - you don't forget those things, these are the things that make you a creative person and an explorer of the world.
We have developed the Child Centered Approach in all of our day nurseries, to find out more about the Child Centered Approach please contact any of our nurseries and speak to the Centre Manager.
